The Audit Commission - 'Performance Breakthroughs'
The Audit Commission has produced a publication which:

• identifies the problems experienced by councils in getting an effective performance management framework in place
  
• identifies eight 'breakthroughs' which help to improve performance
  
• comments on frameworks for performance management and what helps them to work for an organisation
  
• has a model for enabling a 'breakthrough' in performance
  

It enables councils to assess their own position in terms of having an effective approach to performance management and then allows them to re-assess at a later date to monitor progress. Click Here for more information.
